Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Sonja Tesanovic has always been driven by curiosity, creativity, and a desire to connect with people. Her fascination with science and her appreciation for art led her to pursue dentistry. Dr. Tesanovic was fortunate to obtain her Dental degree from Trinity College Dublin. Studying in Ireland gave her the opportunity to experience dentistry through an international lens while also allowing her to travel extensively throughout Europe. These experiences deepened her appreciation for cultural diversity and reinforced her belief that great dentistry starts with truly understanding each individual patient.
Fluent in English, French, and Serbian, Dr. Tesanovic values communication as a cornerstone of excellent care. Known for her warm and personable approach, she takes pride in building genuine relationships with her patients. She believes that dentistry is as much about trust and communication as it is about precision and care. Her clinical interests include restorative and cosmetic dentistry, preventive care, and patient education, helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident every step of the way.
Outside the clinic, she leads a dynamic and creative life. She can often be found DJing house music, where she channels her creativity through rhythm and sound. What began as a hobby quickly became a true artistic outlet, one that allows her to connect with people in a completely different way, creating energy and atmosphere through music. When she’s not behind the decks, she’s on the soccer field, enjoying both the competition and camaraderie the sport brings.
Her love of travel and international cuisine has taken her around the world; whether exploring food markets in new cities or recreating global dishes in her own kitchen, she finds inspiration in every culture she encounters. Dr. Tesanovic brings the same energy, empathy, and curiosity that define her life into her work, helping patients not only achieve healthier smiles but also feel genuinely cared for and understood along the way.
